In keeping with Ecko’s global marketing plan, over the last two years the brand has taken on ownership and sponsorship of the “About To Blow” strand in RWD Magazine.
RWD is a British based magazine which features Music, Style, Sport, Gaming, Film, Technology, News, interviews and charts on hip hop, Grime, Dubstep, RnB, UK garage Drum and bass and U.S. house music. It is released monthly, distributing 98,300 copies each time and is ABC certified and considered the largest magazine on youth music and lifestyle in the United Kingdom.
It’s infmous “About To Blow” section is synonymous with showcasing new UK talent on the verge of fame and is highly recognised by the music industry for exposing breaking music artists.
Having already featured the likes of Tinie Tempah, Ed Sheeran, Maverick Sabre and Tinchey Stryder, as upcoming artists and all of whom are now enjoying mainstream success the strand has proven itself to play a vital role in giving a platform to new and upcoming talent which may otherwise go unrecognised.
Ecko is thrilled to be part of such a unique and exciting project which is so fitting with the brands vibe as well as the interests of its target audience – a young generation of musically savvy, highly creative individuals. The project has also allowed the brand to build brand visibility through credible music associations and communities by utilising RWD Magazine network of music contacts and consumer database.
First in line was Clement Marfo representing Clement Marfo on the Frontline – a seven piece collective from South London. Having already supported Plan B on tour in Edinburgh as well as working alongside the likes of Wretch and Kano these guys are making a serious name for themselves and we predict a very bright future on the cards for the group.
